I feel compelled to get in touch to let you and others know about the terrific service I have received from Mary Ann Charles at Shaw & Co Solicitors.  Early last year my horse Jake and I were hit by a foreign registered articulated lorry while riding down a country lane near our yard.  The lorry was travelling at speed and was over the weight limit for the road.  We were both lucky to escape alive but Jake sustained a bad injury to his foot.  The police did not prosecute and, despite having insurance and other contact details, I struggled for months to get anyone to engage with me to discuss the significant vets fees I faced.

 

I was getting fed up with reliving the collision every time I spoke to someone new but Mary Ann Charles of Shaw & Co took the case on on a "no win no fee" basis and has worked tirelessly since to get resolution.  It was a real relief to get someone else to deal with the claim side of things so that I could focus on Jake.  Mary Ann's knowledge of horses meant that she really understood what we were going through and was able to translate "horse speak" into "legal speak".

 

Jake is now back in work and the haulage company's insurers have finally made a contribution towards our costs.  I really am grateful for Mary Ann's efforts.
